Analysts articulate and effectively defend the significance and implications of the work in data analytics in terms of challenges and trends in a local, national, or global context. They propose an effective path to resolution of an analytical problem that may be complicated by the competitive environment, opposing interests, and divergent or uncertain data and information.

Program Overview

The Master of Professional Studies in Analytics helps to meet employers’ increasing demand for advanced analytics professionals. Students learn the competencies that define an analyst’s ability to demonstrate the application of the knowledge, skills, and dispositions through behavior directly related to performance goals, including statistics/mathematics, analytics systems technology, business intelligence, advanced analytics, business process/management, business analytics agility, communicating with data, leadership/data governance, and policy and ethics.

The Master of Professional Studies in Analytics program prepares students by applying the principles, tools, and methods of analytics to a project within a sponsoring organization to successfully assist with the extraction, development, delivery, and/or translation/implementation of data analysis for tactical and/or strategic decision making in organizations.

Whatever your goals, Northeastern University’s Master of Professional Studies in Analytics program can provide the cutting-edge skills needed to transform complex data into actionable insights. We redesigned our program in 2021 to reflect new trends and approaches in the field, supported by faculty and business partners from the private and public sectors. After completing the core courses, you can earn your graduate certificate in analytics en route to your master’s—allowing you to jump-start your advancement in the field.
